The object of the research is the processes of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine. The subject of the research is methods and models of assessment and analysis of the level of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine. The goal of the work is to develop models for assessing and analyzing the level of socio-economic development of regions, which, based on a systematic approach, modern algorithms and methods of Data Science, information technologies, allow to determine the level of spatial socio-economic differentiation, to conduct an analysis of spatial development trends, and to identify sustainable cluster formations of the regions for which differentiated strategies can be developed in the context of ensuring sustainable, competitive, safe development of the national economy as a whole. Research methods – logical generalization, method of comparative analysis, system analysis, analysis and synthesis, morphological analysis, statistical analysis, cluster analysis, correlation-regression analysis, discriminant analysis, probit-, logit- analysis, forecasting methods. The main approaches to modelling assessment and analysis of the level of socio-economic development of regions are considered. A set of economic and mathematical models, assessment and forecasting of the level of development of regions has been built. The practical significance of the results lies in the improvement of the system for monitoring the level of socio-economic development of regions in the context of ensuring macroeconomic stability, timely diagnosis and prevention of the development of crisis socio-economic situations in regional systems, and the formation of recommendations for adapting strategies for socio-economic development of regions.
