The working conditions of the existing embankment are analyzed, considering the variation in moisture due to surface and groundwater changes throughout the annual cycle. An analysis of the moisture-thermal regime of the embankment is conducted, along with the discussion of key measures for regulating the water-thermal regime of the embankment. The main research directions of moisture accumulation in road structures are examined, particularly the methods for determining the coefficient of moisture conductivity of soils. A methodology has been developed, titled "M 42.1-37641918-783:2022 Method for determining the coefficient of moisture conductivity of embankment soils on public highways." This methodology includes a description of necessary equipment and the procedure for conducting laboratory tests on soil moisture conductivity. It also provides calculation formulas and a sequence for determining the coefficient of moisture conductivity of embankment soils based on European approaches and ISO 17892-11:2019 (E) standards. A computational-analytical system (CAS) has been developed for determining the coefficient of moisture conductivity of embankment soils on public highways. This system enables automated support for the design processes of embankment structures on public highways, including the determination of the coefficient of moisture conductivity of soils according to the methodology of the international standard ISO 17892-11:2019 (E). It performs statistical analysis of an array of moisture conductivity values and calculates moisture conductivity values of soils at arbitrary water temperatures.
