The purpose of the work is to develop a new scientific concept for the calculation of electromagnetic, thermal and magnetohydrodynamic processes in an induction furnace by developing the theory of electrothermal analogy. Research methods – building computer models for calculating electrothermal processes in induction plants based on electrothermal analogy. The results of the initiative research are presented in three sections of the report. The research was based on the previously proposed method of multiphysics modeling of long-term electromagnetic and thermal transient processes in an induction channel furnace for obtaining copper wire rod. The technological features of the channel furnace operation, which are the basis for the construction of the electrical circuit of the substitution, and the features of the induction melting of copper, which were the basis for the construction of the thermal circuit, are described. The parameters of the transformer, as an electromagnetic part of the model, have been refined and adjusted to the design parameters of the inductor of the induction channel furnace. The theory of electrothermal analogy is organized and detailed. Based on the results of the research, the possibility of building electrothermal circuits to establish a quantitative relationship between the depth of penetration of the melt into the lining and the temperature on the furnace body is substantiated. The results of the work are recommended for implementation in the educational process of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"; 3 scientific articles were published, including 1 article in a professional publication of category B; 2 reports were made at international conferences.
