The subject of the research is methodological support for integrated coastal zone management. The purpose of the work is to identify and analyze problematic issues of methodological support for integrated coastal zone management as a preparatory stage for the development of plans for integrated management of the coastal areas of the Azov and Black Seas. Research methods – dialectical method of scientific research; a systematic approach, within which the coastal zone is researched as a complex socio-ecological and economic system consisting of many components of different quality of natural and artificial origin, interconnected by various types of connections. Primary materials: environmental legislation of Ukraine and the EU, scientific publications on integrated coastal zone management by Ukrainian and foreign authors. Was substantiated the need to clarify the terminology in the field of coastal environmental management, formulates proposals for the allocation of the object of management according to various criteria, and for the powers of management entities of different levels.
