In 2018, viruses belonging to the genus Emaravirus, the High Plains wheat mosaic virus, were recorded in Ukraine, which infects corn (Zea mays) and wheat (Triticum aesativum) and causes impressive yield losses in these crops. Therefore, according to the set of disease symptoms on wheat plants submitted to the laboratory for analysis, and in order to rule out the possibility of wheat infection with Emaravirus, which is new to Europe, we used test systems specifically for the indicated wheat viruses. According to the results of ELISA analysis, Wheat streak mosaic virus was detected in the studied samples of wheat seeds of Patras and Samurai varieties.
