In the context of the first topic, we examined the impact of AΒ1–42 amyloid on intracellular calcium concentrations in cultured hippocampal neurons under normal conditions and during hypercalcemia. Our research revealed changes in calcium levels and its distribution within neurons, particularly in the presence of hypercalcemia. In the next topic, we studied the effect of memantine on the viability of hippocampal neurons under the influence of AΒ1–42 amyloid. The findings demonstrated that memantine can protect neurons in conditions affected by amyloid, indicating its potential role in neuronal defense. Additionally, we explored the spatiotemporal characteristics of calcium transients in pyramidal neurons of the hippocampus. Our research emphasized asynchronous changes in calcium concentration in different cellular regions, enhancing our understanding of the dynamics of calcium signals in neurons. For the remaining topics, we investigated various aspects of hippocampal neuron functionality, including the study of TRP channels, the effects of hypoxia on intracellular calcium, and behavioral responses in mice under the influence of memantine. Overall, our research aims to expand the understanding of the physiology and pathology of hippocampal neurons, which holds significant relevance for further scientific inquiries in the fields of neurobiology and neuronal processes.
