This is, first of all, the architectural regulation of the new building. The content of the method of identifying the morphostructure of the historical environment with the simultaneous parameterization of the morphotypes of the city is revealed. It is especially valuable that changes in morphology over time are taken into account with the help of transformation parameters. The presented method of determining the architectural regulations of the building in the historical environment provides qualitative requirements for the new building and its parameterization at all urban planning levels. The object of the research is the public spaces of the city and the concept of their formation based on the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage. The purpose of the research is the work devoted to the solution of significant social tasks - the return of architectural originality, originality, local diversity of cultural forms to historical cities, which, of course, contributes to the growth of national dignity and consciousness, overcoming the identity crisis. Research method - comparative-geographic, typology, ranking, statistical analysis, graphic, cartographic modeling, typological matrix, geo-information, etc. Theoretical and practical results - within the framework of this study, measures will be taken that allow to effectively organize the public spaces of the modern city on the basis of the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage and thus determine the success of the formation of the public spaces of the city.
