The purpose of the work is theoretical, experimental and technological substantiation of directions for increasing the efficiency of the slag mode of blast furnace smelting, slag and dot modes of ladle desulfurization of cast iron and processing of the latter in an oxygen converter using the "low slag" technology. Research methods – analytical research, statistical analysis of the results of blast furnace and converter smelting, regularities and features of iron smelting processes with the injection of pulverized coal fuel into blast furnace furnaces, physical and thermodynamic modeling of processes of ladle desulfurization of process iron, physical modeling and industrial testing of improved modes of conducting the converter process of processing cast iron. The results of a complex study of the interconnected sequential links of the technological route of pig iron smelting in a blast furnace - ladle refining of pig iron - converter processing of pig iron with the development of recommendations for improving the slag and slag regimes are given.
