Developed a scientific and technological justification of an advanced experiment in the field of ionospheric research using a sounding rocket. Assembled a physical specification of the ionosphere as a multicomponent structured multiscale dynamic system. Reviewed ionospheric manifestations of space weather and their impact on the operation of ground-based and space-based technical infrastructure. Reviewed modern ionospheric models - both standard empirical and theoretical based on computer simulations of the ionosphere as a gas-plasma medium. Formulated scientific goals of a rocket experiment, which in the next phase of the study will be converted into a list of physical parameters to be measured and into a set of techical requirements to the scientific payload and the vehicle. The results of the study will be used during the development of the proposal on the improvement of NCCTSF technical assets and for promotion of an advanced domestic space geophysics rocket project.
