In the southern region of Ukraine, the problem of water ecosystems degradation is exacerbated by the factors of regulating the basin runoff in conditions of a steady decrease in water levels, the impoverishment of the species diversity of hydrobionts, climate changes, and the bias of the existing system of normalizing anthropogenic load, which regulates the quality of the resource from the point of view of human consumption, but not of criteria ensuring environmental safety for the natural complex as a whole. The study was based on a set of theoretical and practical measures. In the summer period of 2020-2021, expeditionary studies of indicators of the Southern Bug and Ingul rivers were carried out, together with typical indexing of the reservoir according to the developed energy and toxicological indices of environmental safety. pH, TDS, ORP, salinity and a number of other parameters were measured. This made it possible to deduce the regularities of their changes depending on the distance from the mouth, as well as to confirm the direct influence of rH, determined by pH and ORP, on the activity of aquatic plants and macrozoobenthos. These regularities and indices became the limiting coefficients in the developed energy model of the reservoir. It was developed a new, universal multifactorial model of energy-stoichiometric relationships in the reservoir ecosystem, which was based on astronomical, climatic, physico- chemical factors, features of the species composition of hydrobionts and anthropogenic influence. A new evaluation system of environmental services, which has dynamic indicators that depend on the main properties of the water body and the prices of resources provided by such services, has been created.
