The purpose of the work is to assess the factors of ecological danger caused by the spread of heavy metals in coal mining waste within Chervonograd mining district of the Lviv-Volyn coal basin. Research methods - theoretical studies, field work and experimental studies. Theoretical studies include a review of literary sources, analysis of the problem and theoretical substantiation of ways to solve it. At the stage of field work, ecological and geological routes were carried out with waste rock sampling. Experimental research included conducting experiments both in the laboratory of the educational institution, the laboratory of the Lviv city sanitary-epidemiological station, and in field conditions, using technical means and using known methods.
