The object of research is the process of preparing and conducting observations of objects approaching the Earth by optical means. The purpose of the work is to improve the methodology of planning and analysis of observations of objects approaching the Earth with the optical means of observation of the National Institute of Natural Resources and Environment. Research methods – analysis of the pipeline of scripts for planning optical observations of objects approaching the Earth; synthesis of proposals for improving the methodology of automatic planning of observations of objects approaching the Earth by optical means. An analysis of errors and inconveniences that were discovered during the application of the pipeline of scripts for planning optical observations of objects approaching the Earth was carried out. Proposals for improving the technique of automatic planning of optical observations of objects approaching the Earth developed in 2022 were developed and implemented. The improvement of the methodology consisted in: elimination of shortcomings identified during the application of the existing methodology; the development of a new algorithm for rejecting lines of target designations, which allows to increase the marginal magnitude of the observed objects, due to a certain decrease in the number and accuracy of such observations; creation of a new pipeline of scripts for prompt obtaining of statistical data based on the results of observations of objects approaching the Earth and their further analysis; making appropriate changes to the software package that implements the specified methodology.
