The aim of the work is to elucidate the nature of physical phenomena occurring in powders, layers and ceramics of wide bandgap metal oxides and their solid solutions governed by their doping and subsequent various treatments, as well as to develop the theory of infrared radiation interaction with polycrystalline materials. Research methods – optical, luminescent, electrical, X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, scanning electron microscopy, Auger spectroscopy. On the basis of a complex combination of non-destructive optical methods, a technique for diagnosing the crystal structure of the samples based on metal oxides, which are a mixture of different crystalline phases is proposed. Perspectives for further development of the research object – the improvement of technology for the production of metal oxides, undoped and doped with different types of impurities, as well as solid solutions of metal oxides used in the manufacture of sensors, micro- and photoelectronic devices.
