The selection of new hybrids is based on the principles of adaptability and ecological plasticity to respond positively to weather factors and proposed elements of growing technology and remains an urgent task of scientific research with the aim of their implementation in the agricultural production of the region. Expansion of the range of hybrids: early ripening (FAO 100–200), mid-early (FAO 201–300), mid-ripening (FAO 301–400), mid-late (FAO 401–500), late ripening (FAO 501–600) grain and feed products. Cultivation of early- and mid-ripening hybrids allows for sowing and harvesting at an earlier date, increasing the density of the agrocenosis and moving away from traditional crop rotations, but it leads to a slower accumulation of dry matter, and as a consequence to accelerated moisture release at the final stages of grain ripening. Therefore, establishing the reaction of hybrids to basic and foliar plant nutrition, the variability of morpho-biological characteristics under the influence of weather factors, ripeness groups, growing season, moisture release by grain and resistance to major diseases is a pressing issue of scientific research for practical recommendations for production.
