Luminescent characteristics of the NCs have been studied as a fuction of synthesis conditions; the effects external factors, including the concentration of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in solutions, on the luminescent characteristics of NCs have been studied. The approaches to restore the luminescent properties of NCs after exposure to ROS have been found. The role of the ratio of ions of different valence in NCs and external factors (such as UV or X-ray irradiation) in the formation of anti- or pro-oxidant properties of NCs has been established. The methods to control the redox properties of NCs are developed. Synthesized NCs are promising for the applications in medicine and veterinary practice.
