Keywords: Insects, Hymenoptera, faunogenesis, biodiversity, forest ecosystems, paleontology, amber, Polissia, Carpathians Objects of study: model groups of hymenopterans (Ichneumonidae, Chysididae, Formicidae, Encyrtidae, Eulophidae, Crabronidae) The goal of the project: to work out a holistic concept of the biodiversity growth, development, loss and restoration patterns in the past and the present forest and forest-like ecosystems, using Hymenoptera as a model group. We also aim to demonstrate the value of Rivne amber as the priceless source of information about the biodiversity of the past and, at the same time, as the threat to modern biodiversity due to uncontrolled mining. Methods: field research on the Carpathians and Polissia territories, laboratory experiments and cameral data processing. Main results and their novelty: 1) Taxonomic and faunistic diversity, and community structure of the target Hymenoptera groups in forests with different degree of antropogenic disturbance in Polissia and Carpathians, and in comparison with the other parts of the world, is studied. 2) Differences in taxonomic composition of hymenopterans from Rovno and other Late Eocene European ambers and modern territory of Polissia is analyzed taking into account the difference in climate and evolution of Hymenoptera over the past millions of years. 3) Traits of taxonomy and evolution of hymenopterans considering morphological and molecular data is analyzed: 52 taxa is described (23 recent and 29 fossil); features of biology and etology of several species are studied; prospect of usage of Pemphredoninae sting characters for stating phylogenetic hypotheses and assessing the group's evolution is shown. The results of project implementation were published in twenty six research papers, in addition two papers are in press. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2023-11-30 Close
