For the both types of heterostructured stilbene scintillators, the similarity of the dependences of the relative light output J and energy separation R on the average size of granules Lav during alpha excitation was determined. For values of Lav greater than 0.8 mm, the value of J, as well as their values of R, do not change significantly. The same was observed for composite scintillators of p-terphenyl. For polycrystalline scintillators, no dependence of J and R on Lav was observed. For composite samples based on both stilbene and p-terphenyl, the values of selective capability (FOM) firstly do not have a certain trend with increasing Lav of the scintillating substance, and secondly, they have a sufficiently high value - on average 76% of the single crystal of stilbene and 70% of p-terphenyl. It is shown that for the considered heterostructured scintillators, as well as for single-crystal scintillators, the standard methods of measuring the light output, optical transmittance and selective capability can be applied.
