Research purposes: to determine the short-term sequences of landscape and climatic events of the Pleistocene in the regions of Ukraine and to correlate them; to draft the climatostratigraphic schemes of loess-palaeosol deposits of the regions of Ukraine with their integration into the global model. Research methods: stratigraphic, lithological, palaeopedological, micromorphological, palynological, palaeoclimatic, and palaeoenvironmental. A detailed stratification of eight reference sections of the loess-palaeosol formation has been carried out. The short-period sequence of landscape and climatic changes during the Pleistocene based on lithological, palaeopedological, cryolithological, micromorphological, and palynological characteristics of sediments for different region of Dnieper region of Ukraine, Volhynian-Podolian region, and the North Black Sea regions was reconstructed. Spatio-temporal correlation of landscape and climatic conditions in the Pleistocene of the different regions of Ukraine was carried out. Regional climatostratigraphic schemes of the Pleistocene of Ukraine were provided, which were correlated with the schemes of Europe and marine isotope stages and, thus, integrated into the global chronostratigraphic model of the Pleistocene. A probabilistic forecast was made regarding the position of the modern time interval of the Holocene in a series of consistent landscape-climatic sequence of interglacials, which opens up the opportunities for determining possible future changes in the environment under the influence of natural factors.
