Research subject – an effect of metal-oxide and zeolite catalysts’ physico-chemical characteristics on activity and selectivity in dry reforming of methane (DRM) and CO2-mediated oxidative dehydrogenation of C3-4-alkanes (СО2-ODH of propane and n-butane). Purpose of work – a purposeful design of effective catalysts based on metal-oxide systems and BEA type zeolites for dry/(super-)dry conversion of methane into synthesis gas with an adjustable H2/СО ratio; СО2-ODH of propane and n-butane into valuable olefins, dienes. Research methods – physico-chemical methods for catalyst and catalytic reaction investigation: kinetic one with chromatographic control, XRD, SEM, EDX, XPS, FTIR (with pyridine), low-temperature N2 ad(de)sorption, NH3/CO2-TPD, H2-TPR. Results and novelty: As a result of the project stage implementation, the metal-oxide and metal-zeolite catalysts for DRM, СО2-ODH of propane and n-butane were synthesized, and their catalytic properties were investigated. The high Ni-BEA catalysts’ activity and stability to carbonation during DRM is established to be associated with a localization of finely dispersed nickel in the zeolite T-positions. СО2-ODH of propane over Cr/Zn-BEA catalysts occurs through direct dehydrogenation of propane combined with the reverse water shift reaction; the process rate is determined by the catalyst surface acid-base characteristics. During СО2-ODH of n-butane the role of Ni-Bi-Mo/Al2O3 weak and strong surface acid sites consists in the adsorption of butene as an intermediate, which is necessary for the next dehydrogenation into butadiene. The final product description – new knowledge about the catalytic properties of d- and p-element based systems deposited on oxide and zeolite supports in DRM and oxidative dehydrogenation of C3-4-alkanes.
