Treatment of PNI is extremely important for maintaining the security and sustainable development of Ukraine, especially in conditions of armed conflict. Within the framework of the project, the production of scaffolds is planned to be carried out within the framework of the strategy of biomimetic engineering. The printed scaffolds will contain tunneling systems, vascular and axonal, and will be implanted into the site of a traumatic sciatic nerve defect in a rat. During the reporting period, effective surgical techniques were developed for the implantation of a microchannel 3D implant, an empty silicone tube, and the formation of an epineural neurorrhaphy at the intersection of the sciatic nerve. It was determined that the restoration of the motor function of the hind limb of the rat after transection of the sciatic nerve is more effective when using a microchannel 3D implant than a hollow silicone tube or epineural neurorrhaphy. On the basis of a complex analysis, it has been proven that the use of a microchannel 3D implant as a means of restoring the functions of a nerve after its complete transection is more effective. The methodological arsenal created during the execution of the fragment of the work and the obtained preliminary experimental results make it possible to manufacture and test the latest bioengineering means of restorative treatment of peripheral nerve injury, which in the conditions of a dramatic increase of PNI against the background of active hostilities will have a significant positive practical effect.
