Registration Date 01-12-2023 Organization Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The target fish species were selected from new localities. Their parasite community composition, also the size-weight population parameters were studied. The genetic diversity was studied based on iPBS markers, microsatellites and mitochondrial DNA analysis. Population analysis of several non-native species (three-spined stickleback, Chinese sleeper, stone moroko, pumpkinseed) discovered the peculiarities of the size-weight, age, and sex structure of their populations in the acquired habitats, also the relationship between fertility and intensity of infection with macroparasites, etc. Based on functional categorization of non-native fish parasites (proposed for the first time) we provided a comprehensive statistical analysis of their local parasite communities in freshwaters, deltaic zones and sea habitats, also metacommunities of parasites of target fish species in the studied regions. The data collected in 2020-2023 have been uploaded into the international GBIF online database as a separate dataset, for which NFDU is indicated as the funding source. Based on the study results, a database that combined environmental, population, parasitological and genetic parameters as a basis for comprehensive analysis and forecasting was created. Taking into account the foreign experience in assessment of non-native species impact on environment, their management and control, the list of particularly dangerous invasive alien fish species and their parasites is proposed for the Black and Grey Lists for Ukraine. The recommendations for preventing the spread of non-native fish species through the river drainages were also proposed. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2023-12-01 Close
