The essence of the research competence of future fire safety specialists as an integrative quality of personality has been determined and scientifically substantiated, its structural components have been singled out, the criteria of formation corresponding to them have been determined, and the level of formation has been characterized. The main pedagogical conditions for the formation of research competence have been determined, and we offer a model for its formation. An experimental study was conducted, in the process of which the model of formation of research competence is implemented among students of higher education. It is statistically substantiated that the model contributed to the formation of research competence, which proves the effectiveness of the author's methodology. On the basis of the received data, methodological recommendations were developed for the formation of research competence of future fire safety specialists of the Higher Secondary School of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
