The theory of the formation of nuclei of nanostructures received further development; methods of forming nanostructures in glow and arc discharge; methods of protecting the growth zone of nanostructures from the negative effects of plasma; theory and equipment for generating an arc discharge from the point of view of its effective application for the formation of nanostructures; common factors for the formation of oxide and carbon nanostructures, as well as the conditions for the emergence and transition to structures of another dimension, were revealed.
