The object of the study is the landscape plantings of the "Trostianets" Arboretum. The purpose of the work is to ensure the longevity of the Trostyanets park complex, the maximum preservation of its plant gene pool and the original decorative and artistic merits of the park. Research task. Analysis and assessment of the condition of landscape plantings of the arboretum, development and implementation of practical measures for their optimization. Research method. Research in the Trostyanets Arboretum was conducted using direct and indirect methods generally accepted in dendrology, phytocenology and geobotany. The expediency and necessity of conducting research in this direction is caused by the more than 180-year period of the park's existence, during which there were changes in the objects of garden and park architecture due to the dynamism of artificial and natural processes, including constant changes in the forms and structures of composite park elements, changes in the reservoirs of park structures due to intensive natural restoration of unwanted tree and shrub species; waste and elimination of a few exotic species and forms and low-resistant breeds. All this, over time, leads to a significant transformation of park landscapes and disharmony of the artistic expression of park landscapes. As a result of the performed works, an analysis of the condition and changes that occurred in park landscapes was carried out; the taxonomic and age structure of landscape-forming introducers and their phytocoenotic relationships with local species were investigated; proposed and implemented specific measures to ensure the optimization of park landscapes and their care.
