Executed by contract 156/0209, August 1, 2023. The study object is the geological environment of the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” territory. The purpose of the І stage is to establish unstable and potentially dangerous areas, survey and model priority objects where dangerous geological processes are observed, and justify the choice of historic buildings of vibrometric monitoring for the ІІ stage. Research methods – retrospective analysis of the development of dangerous engineering-geological processes, geophysical methods, the method of finite-element analysis of the stress-strain state of soil strata, GIS technologies. The collection, generalization, and analysis of engineering-geological and hydrogeological investigations of the territory of the Reserve, and specialised studies were carried out. An electronic data bank “LAVRA–GEO” was created using GIS technologies for natural and man-made characteristics. Unstable and potentially dangerous areas have been identified within the Reserve using GIS technologies. Using the methods of electro-tomography and the natural electric field, the moisture content in soils and the presence of voids within the unstable area - the territory of the Metropolitan Garden was investigated. Calculations of the stress-strain state of soil strata, which affects the stability of the historic areas and buildings of the Reserve (the Far Cave Hill, the Assumption Cathedral), were performed. Based on monitoring and conducting instrumental studies, the technical condition of buildings within the selected unstable areas were investigated. Sensors (accelerometers, inclinometer) and methods of mathematical analysis of vibrometric information were tested to detect structural damage of historic buildings.
