The purpose is to study the development of social rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and their families at the level of territorial communities in the war and post-war periods. A qualitative design was used to conduct the research using the strategy of "research in action with community participation". To realize the goal, a set of methods was used: analysis of legislative and regulatory documents, research and publications in the field of social rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and their families. The comparative-typological method is used to compare, compare,, identify signs of similarity and differences between phenomena and facts. Systematization, classification and descriptive method contributed to the generalization of research results. During this stage we: did the analysis of legal acts, the results of scientific and applied research published in journals, analytical reports, etc. on the topic of social rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and their families; selected the territorial communities from the Ternopil, Lviv and Cherkasy regions of Ukraine; concluded the cooperation and agreements with them; involved the experts in the field of social services; determined the content of the concept of "social rehabilitation services for children and their families" and created a register of relevant services offered to children with disabilities and their families; mapped the social rehabilitation services and their providers in local communities; prepared the tools for conducting quantitative and qualitative research to study the development of social rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and their families; prepared scientific articles and involved in Ukrainian and international scientific conferences. These results will become the basis for the second stage of the project.
