The purpose of the research is the development of scientific and methodological concepts and practical recommendations regarding integration and disintegration processes in the European economy, assessment of their causes and consequences, taking into account the European integration course of Ukraine. The methodological basis of the work was general scientific principles and fundamental provisions of economic theory, the theory of globalization, international integration and regionalization. To implement the planned tasks, the following are applied: dialectical method of scientific knowledge, methods of scientific abstraction, analysis and synthesis; system generalization; comparative analysis, statistical analysis; methods of economic and mathematical analysis and modeling. Theoretical results – scientific research aimed at substantiating the theoretical basis of European integration and disintegration processes, substantiating directions of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU and developing proposals for their development. The practical results of the scientific research work consist in the possibility of using the developed recommendations and proposals to increase the efficiency of the economic development strategy of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration by carrying out economic reforms.
