The purpose of the work is to determine modern trends in ensuring the stability of higher education institutions to the challenges of modernity based on a comprehensive study of scientific approaches and to form practical conclusions aimed at implementing and improving mechanisms for managing educational and scientific activities in crisis situations. Research methods — the scientific work was carried out using the general system-structural method, the main elements of which provided the possibility of building models for solving the set problems. The foundations of the scientific analysis methodology system are: 1) dialectical method; 2) system method; 4) comparative method and method of documentary analysis; 5) statistical method, etc. Other methods of cognition were used in the research, for example, structural-logical and comparative-legal methods became the main ones in the study of foreign experience of ensuring stability and management in crisis conditions. The use of methods of analysis and synthesis in research work is comprehensive.
