To assess the impact of a ridesharing model for grain transportation on the operation of the Ukrainian railway system, it is proposed to formalize this process. Grain transportation using ridesharing services is suggested to be formalized as coalitional games with overloading. The game formulation is transformed into a nonlinear optimization problem. Within the study, mathematical modeling of the ridesharing service for railway transportation of grain cargoes is conducted, demonstrating the adequacy of the mathematical model. It is established that adhering to the schedule leads to increased unproductive wagon standstill after loading, reducing incentives for coalition formation among freight shippers. However, modeling results indicate significant improvements in transportation metrics under conditions of coordination between freight shippers and carriers. This substantiates the effectiveness of grain transportation using ridesharing principles on the Ukrainian railway.
