The object of the research is the communicative competence of police officers. The subject of the study is the patterns of detection and countermeasures against psychological manipulation in the activities of police officers. Research methods are chosen based on the defined goals and tasks, taking into account the object and subject. To solve the set tasks, a research program was developed, the implementation of which involved the use of a complex of interrelated general scientific and special scientific methods, in particular: system-functional; logical and psychological; psychological modeling; structural and functional; acmeological The results obtained: methodological recommendations have been prepared dedicated to the problem of prevention and resistance to manipulative influence in the activities of police officers. The publication presents a comprehensive analysis of the psychological phenomenon "manipulation", its principles, indicators and impact on the professional activity of police officers are defined. The tactics of psychological manipulation are systematized, the process of revealing manipulative intentions and further work of the individual to protect against manipulative influence is highlighted, strategies and means of counter-manipulation are given.
