EUTROFICATION, WASTEWATER, ADSORPTION, MODIFICATION, CLINOPTILOLITE, GLAUCONITE, PHOSPHATES, AMMONIUM, SURFACTANTS The object of research is the processes of improving the adsorption capacity of natural minerals for eutrophication agents, in particular phosphates, ammonium ions and surfactants. The purpose of the work is to develop a filter for tertiary water purification from eutrophication agents and detergents, in particular phosphates, ammonium ions and surfactants, based on an effective and affordable sorbent/sorbents based on natural minerals. Research methods - review of scientific and technical literature, analysis methods, means and conditions for improving the sorption properties of natural minerals; analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the studied samples before and after irradiation in the field of microwave irradiation, thermal modification and action by metal-containing chemical reagents; testing the sorption capacity of experimental samples under different conditions. Methods of improving the sorption properties of various natural minerals were studied, including thermal and microwave activation, treatment with chemical reagents. Batches of experimental samples based on clinoptilolite and glauconite were obtained. Their chemical composition was investigated and their sorption capacity for NH4+, PO43- and surfactant ions was determined. Based on the research results, a conclusion was made about the most promising material and the method of its modification. The use of such materials as backfills for tertiary wastewater treatment filters will enable efficient and inexpensive additional treatment of domestic wastewater.
