The variance two-factor analysis established that among the organized factors ("origin by father" and "conditions of acquisition"), the variability of the live weight of young animals at the age of 18 months is affected by 61.3% of the breeding bull, 1.5% by the housing conditions, and the interaction of these factors - by 37.2%. In the total variance, the father's influence on the trait "live weight at 18 months" is 8.8%, housing conditions - 0.2%, the interaction of these factors - 5.3%, and other factors - 85.7%. Bulls of the gray Ukrainian breed at the age of 6, 12, 15, and 18 months are characterized by higher live weight indicators compared to heifers by 8.8 kg (184.3 ± 1.30; Р ˃ 0.999), 64.4 kg (333 .9 ± 1.33; P ˃ 0.999), 87.8 kg (395.7 ± 1.21; Р ˃ 0.999) and 99.0 kg (447.5 ± 1.94; Р ˃ 0.999), respectively. The energy assessment of mother cows was carried out and it was established that in cows characterized by a higher energy status (12271.1 ± 38.55) there is a tendency for the deterioration of reproductive properties (the duration of the intercalving period - 455.1 ± 21.30 days (Р < 0 .95); r = -0.385 ± 0.1776 (tr = 2.17). The population-genetic patterns of polygenic-heritable traits of the isolated gene pool of the autochthonous gray Ukrainian breed of cattle were established (h2 = 0.04...0.80; rw = 0.09...0.42; Cv = 6.2...29.0%). The parameters of the selection of animals of the gray Ukrainian breed based on the main biological and economic characteristics have been developed.
