The subject of the study is the formation of the main vectors of design activity in the field of clothing design, taking into account the current trends in the formation of a project image in costume design. The work methodology is based on both general scientific and special research methods. A significant variety of interpretations of the classics and its elements has been revealed. Investigating the transformations of classical forms and their interaction with other styles, one can come to a conclusion about the multifacetedness of those geometric and plastic configurations that determine the entire structural diversity of the suit. Under the conditions of the dominance of a certain style in art and design, things with the transformation of ethnic motifs will always be relevant in their territory, since they are all created on the basis of the phenomena of beauty and perfection common to all representatives of the ethnic group. Expanding the spheres of influence and improving ways of adapting retrospective elements in modern fashion today is becoming an important factor in the formation of current design images, especially in the context of the consumer crisis. It is described in the work that by applying the principles of eclecticism in the design of a costume, it is possible to project an individual and unique image, which will always create preferences for the identification of its wearer. In the course of the research, elements of the compositional and informational structure of uniforms for various purposes were revealed.
