Chapter 2. Development of new QSAR models for activity prediction and synthesis of new chemical compounds of heterocyclic nature as antimicrobial, antiviral and anticancer agents popup.stage_title Head Brovarets Volodymyr S., д.х.н. Registration Date 22-12-2023 Organization V.P. Kukhar Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and Petrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 A number of new QSAR models were built, and their use made it possible to successfully identify a number of azole derivatives as highly active antibacterial agents against the standard strain of E. coli (type ATCC), as well as as potential antiviral agents. Antiviral activity against HCMV in vitro of new sulfonamide derivatives was evaluated. In silico and in vitro results of research on the antibacterial and antiviral potential of a number of 1,3-oxazole, 1,3-thiazole derivatives are promising in the search and construction of new low molecular weight heterocyclic compounds with appropriate structural features and a specific molecular mechanism of action. Experimental study and analysis of five-membered nitrogenous heterocycles as antimicrobial and antiviral agents proved the perspective of further research in the direction of their structural optimization and expansion of the spectrum of biological research.
