Besser (KW-BESS) at the National Herbarium of Ukraine (KW). The goal of the work is taxonomic nomenclatural inventory and analysis of specimens of Artemisia species from the KW-BESS collection and their padigitization. This research was guided by the principles and provisions of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (Shenzhen Code, 2018) and the method of digitizing herbarium collections using international digitization standards (BRAHMS, HerbScan inverted scanne). Nomenclatural and taxonomic analyzes were carried out for 44 model taxa represented in the flora of China, the type and/or other original specimens of which are deposited in KW-BESS. It has been demonstrated that, of 74 studied herbarium specimens, 51 certainly represent type material. A checklist of species of the flora of China for which (or for synonyms of which) type and/or other original herbarium specimens are preserved in KW-BESS has been compiled. It is demonstrated that these model taxa belong to 14 currently accepted species and 12 varieties belonging to 4 genera (Artemisia s. str., Ajania, Hippolytia, Seriphidium); their geographic ranges cover most of the territory of China. 10 model species of Artemisia are currently recognized. The digital images of 70 herbarium sheets have been obtained. For 74 specimens, the associated information is supplemented with data from deciphered herbarium labels. The work carried out laid the foundations for the further progress of integral studies of the genus Artemisia. Digitization of specimens will contribute to the preservation of samples in this globally important collection, threats to which are increasing under the wartime conditions.
