The subject of research is the regularity of the influence of temperature and time conditions of melt crystallization on structure formation and the formation of cross-sectional properties of steel castings. The purpose of the work is to increase the resistance to brittle fracture and wear resistance of steel castings using the purposeful influence of thermo-time parameters on the processes of crystallization and structure formation of steels. Research methods are metallographic, X-ray structural, electron microscopic, determination of physical and mechanical properties and wear resistance, as well as computer processing of experimental data. On the basis of systematic studies, the regularities of the influence of temperature and time conditions of melt crystallization on morphological features, characteristics of the cast structure and the formation of mechanical properties in the cross-section of steel castings have been established, which opens up the possibility of purposeful changes in order to ensure high mechanical and operational indicators of cast steel products. Interpolation models (regression equations) obtained based on the results of mathematical processing of experimental data allow to quantitatively assess the influence of thermokinetic parameters of crystallization on changes in the morphology and extent of structural zones and characteristics of mechanical properties in various structural zones of castings, to ensure the production of castings with a predicted and predetermined high complex properties.
