The subject of research is active loops for reducing the power frequency magnetic field. The purpose of the work on the first stage is to determine prospective types of active shields for normalizing the magnetic field of built-in transformer substations and criteria for their optimization. Research methods include methods of mathematical physics, scientific positions of electromagnetic field theory and theoretical electrical engineering, methods of computer algebra. Mathematical modeling of the magnetic field of a built-in transformer substation with a nominal capacity of 100 kVA showed that at a distance of 1 m from the substation, the r.m.s. value of magnetic flux density is 1.6..15 times higher than the level, which, according to national regulatory documents, is safe for health at long-term impact on a person. It was established that the magnetic field reaches its highest values in the area above the substation and near one of its walls. It is substantiated that the prospective active loop should consist of several serially connected straight sections located near the indicated upper and side faces of the transformer substation. The novelty of the work is the developed mathematical formulation of the problem of optimizing the parameters of an active loop, which, unlike the known ones, makes it possible to determine the number of sections of the shield and their mutual orientation, under which the magnetic field of the built-in transformer substation will be reduced to a safe level, and the shield will consume a minimum of electrical energy .
