Registration Date 25-12-2023 Organization Odessa National Medical University popup.description2  In 2,084 patients with pollen allergy of different age groups (children and adults) living in the southern regions of Ukraine, the peculiarities of clinical manifestations and the spectrum of causative allergens and allergen components were studied. The most significant group of allergens in the southern regions of Ukraine is weed pollen. The most common reaction to ragweed is 86.7% among those who react to weed pollen. It was established that the reaction to the major components of pollen allergens is noted in 96.4% of patients. Seasonal bronchial asthma occurs in children (especially younger ones) significantly more often than in adults. In 762 children with bronchial asthma, it was established that the frequency of reaction to plant pollen is directly proportional to the age of the patients, the severity of the course, and the age of onset of bronchial asthma in children.
