Predominance of cases of asymptomatic chronic apical periodontitis (54.0 ± 2.4%, p < 0.05) over cases of chronic apical periodontitis with pronounced signs of inflammation or periostitis (46.0 ± 2.5%) and an increase in the number of soldiers of long-term service in the group of patients with exacerbation of chronic periodontitis (73.1%) relative to the group of patients with chronic periodontitis in remission (48.5%) who seek help in medical institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicates the need for early detection and diagnosis of the phase course of chronic apical foci of infection, in the absence of obvious clinical signs of inflammation, especially in conscript soldiers. 2. In conscript soldiers, the complication of the course of chronic apical infection develops against the background of an increase in the average value of CPV (from 6.87 ± 0.80 with CAP in a state of remission to 7.98 ± 1.22 with CAP in a state of exacerbation, p < 0, 05); deterioration of the level of oral hygiene (increase in the Green-Vermillion index by 2.6 times; Silness-Loe index by 2.3 times, p<0.05) and the state of periodontal tissues (increase in the probing depth of the periodontal pocket by 3.5 times than in remission of HAP, an increase in gingival recession almost 5 times, p<0.05).
