The purpose of the research is to form varieties-populations and complex hybrids according to the programmed parameters according to the variety model. Research methods - field, laboratory, comparative and descriptive, measuring and weighing, polycross test, mass and individual selection. Results of the research - 17 varieties (15 populations and 2 heterotic hybrids or synthetics) were formed, levelled by the length of the growing season and other search traits. The 25 most productive elite plants (breeding samples) with very high seed weight were selected through individual selection. In the competitive test, out of six selection numbers, only 504 and 515 provided a significant increase in yield over the standard varieties Ukrainka and Olga) and the sample mean at the 5% significance level. In the preliminary trial, only selection numbers 601, 609, 616 and 618 provided a significant increase in yield over the standards of Ukrainka and Olga and the sample mean at the 5% significance level.
