Registration Date 26-12-2023 Organization Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamational of National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The purpose of the research was to assess and map the main diffuse pollutants (N and P) in the Ros sub-basin using geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing tools (RS). In 2023, we determined the types of land use in the sub-basin, as well as created databases of diffuse pollutants arising as a result of these land uses. When conducting research, we used GIS and DPP tools, and next year we plan to simulate the mechanism of diffuse pollution using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) to predict the impact of land use, land management practices, and climate change on the ecological state of the sub-basin area. The results of land use calculations in the sub-basin of the Ros River showed that the largest area within the catchment area is occupied by agricultural land - almost 73%. The forested area of the catchment is about 12%. Among the largest tributaries of the Rosy, the lowest forest cover is observed in the basin of the Kamianka River. Settlements, industrial facilities, highways - 11% also occupy a fairly significant territory within the Rossii basin. The city of Bila Tserkva is the largest in terms of population in this territory. Among the other components that occupy a significant area within the river basin, it is worth noting meadows and pastures (2.8%). Recently, the area of meadows and pastures has significantly decreased, in particular, due to rural development. The scientific conclusions obtained as a result of the implementation of the NDR will be interpreted for the development of sub-basin management strategies in order to take measures to minimize the risks of diffuse pollution.
