A retrospective analysis of 126 patients who underwent endovascular embolization AVM and cerebral angiography was performed during the observation period, from 1 to 24 years. 145 (73.6%) patients underwent one embolization procedure, 52 (26.4%) patients underwent multi-session embolization. The average age was (37.7±2.2) years, men -112 (56.9%), women -85 (43.1%). Hemorrhagic onset was registered in 122 (61.9%) patients. The average observation period was (4.8±1.4) years. There were 75 (38.1%) patients with non-hemorrhagic AVM onset. The average observation period was (7.3±1.5) years. Total obliteration of the AVM was achieved in 52 (26.4%). Control angiography revealed its stable effect during long-term. In 23 (11.7%) cases preoperative embolization and microsurgical removal of AVM was performed, and in 22 (11.2%) embolization with radiosurgery, which led to occlusion of AVM in 12 (54.5%) patients. At the time of discharge in 185 (93.9%) patients, the results of AVM treatment according to the Rankin outcome scale were assessed as good (0-2 point) and unfavorable (3 or more point) in 12 (6.1%). The average follow-up period for patients after hemorrhage was (4.8±1.4) years, (7.3±1.5) years with convulsive onset, and 3.1±1.4 years with other manifestations of AVM. In 12 (6.1%) patients, there was a worsening of the Rankin scale (10 due to neurological deficit, 2 due to increased seizures, 1 due to cardiac pathology). In 36 (18.3%) patients there was an improvement in the condition in the remote period and an increase in the Rankin scale score. In total, 189 (95.9%) patients with AVMs after endovascular treatment were assessed as good (0-2 point) and unfavorable in 8 (4.1%) (3 or more point) according to the Rankin scale. The results make it possible to increase the efficiency of diagnosis and endovascular treatment of cerebral AVMs. Product Description popup.authors Altman Ihor V.
