The purpose of the research is to identify the potential of a subjective factor to overcome disorganization in society and ensure the sustainability of the development of modern society and its components as a whole system. The research methods are: dialectical, logical, historical, systematic analysis, decomposition, survey and questionnaire. The results of the research are as follows. Continued comprehensive socio-philosophical analysis of the problem of sustainable development of modern society. Firstly in national socio-philosophical literature there was revealed and proven that technological pessimism, personified by technophobia, and technological optimism, personified by technocratism, have a single philosophical basis - technicism. Technicism, proclaiming technique as the driving force of history, absolutizes the independence of technique (either with a "minus" sign or with a "plus" sign) and the laws of its development as a force beyond the control of society and the arbiter of its destinies. There showed, that such independence exists really, but it is not absolute, it is relative. One of the embodiments of the relative independence of technique represents its "encounter" character: technique is the result of the meeting of human spirit with nature. Therefore the essence of this phenomenon cannot be localized either in the subject (human spirit) or in the object (nature), taken separately; the technique reveals itself as a relationship between them. The role of political activity is noted: it is not limited to a simple reproduction of socio-political reality, but is its transformation, both outside individuals and within them.
