Methods have been developed for reducing the background of low-temperature scintillation bolometers with lithium molybdate and telurium oxide crystals to the level of 10^-5 counts/(yr x keV x kg) in experiments of the next generation with the aim of investigation of normal scheme of neutrino mass in the double beta decay of 100Mo and 130Te nuclei ( project BINGO). A low-background low-temperature bolometric detector with a lead tungstate scintillation crystal from archaeological lead for registration of coherent scattering of neutrinos from astrophysical sources (RES-NOVA project) has been developed. The optical, luminescent and scintillating properties of zinc tungstate crystals for the search for dark matter and double beta decay has been investigated.
