The first corresponds to the uniform supply of the cold coolant through the lower plane of the disc located at a given distance from the bottom of the tank. The second involves the uniform supply of cold coolant through the lower plane of "petals" of a given radius, located at a certain distance from the bottom of the tank. A numerical solution to the problem of the formation of a thermocline during the displacement of a hot coolant by a cold one from a non-pressurized storage tank is considered. At the first stage of the work, preparations were made for a numerical experiment and computer simulation: 1. A system of equations describing hydrodynamic and thermal processes was obtained. 2. The choice of geometrical parameters of coolant supply devices, mode and thermal parameters of numerical modeling for reproduction of processes in the studied objects is substantiated. 3. The mesh of the calculation area was built, which satisfies the conditions of the study. 4. The choice of discretization and interpolation schemes, the algorithm of connection of pressure fields and velocities is substantiated. Previous research using numerical simulations showed that two stages of thermocline formation can be conditionally distinguished. Numerical analysis showed that when changing coolants in the accumulator tank in the considered cold coolant supply schemes in the range of Reynolds numbers, the initial thickness of the formed thermocline does not exceed twice the height at which the coolant supply device is located.
