The characteristics of the categorical-conceptual apparatus of the research are substantiated, the methodological bases of the training of engineers are outlined, the essence of their training is investigated, and the degree of their implementation in the educational process is analyzed. Scientifically developed and substantiated regulatory support, the author's model of training engineers in the conditions of an interactive digital environment and the technology of its implementation in the educational process. The purpose and tasks, approaches and principles of implementation of the developed model are defined. The essence, structure, criteria, indicators and levels of readiness of future engineers for professional activity are defined. The effectiveness of the author's model of training engineers in the conditions of an interactive digital environment has been experimentally confirmed.
