VACUUM ARC, GAS-METAL AND GAS PLASMA, NITRIDATION OF STEEL, NANOSTRUCTURE COATINGS, NITRIDES, MORPHOLOGY, STRUCTURE. The purpose of research is the development of wear-resistant vacuum-arc coatings on pre-nitrided steel products to ensure improvement of functional properties at elevated temperatures and the influence of destructive forces. Research and search for connections between physical and mechanical properties and the structural state of nanostructured coatings. There is a problem in creating high-performance and durable tools for the production of hot-pressed and cold-formed corrosion-resistant pipes, which is primarily related to the problem of obtaining and processing such materials that could withstand the harsh conditions of the tool (high temperatures, intense sliding speeds , variable loads, dynamic shocks). To solve this problem, it is possible to use surface strengthening technologies due to nitriding and deposition of wear-resistant coatings by the vacuum-arc method. Hardening of the surface of samples and finished products from 60С2ХФА, 4Х5МФ1С and 5Х3В3МФС steels in the hardened and tempered state was carried out. The modification of the surface of steel products to increase the surface hardness was carried out by the method of nitriding in a gas plasma of a vacuum-arc discharge. In some cases, vacuum-arc nitride coatings were deposited on the nitrided steel layer. Technological parameters were developed for strengthening the pipe tool used for pressing and cold rolling of highly alloyed corrosion-resistant steels in order to improve the operational characteristics of the tool and the quality of the pipe surface.
