Statistical data related to the occurrence of fires at enterprises of the garment industry both on the territory of Ukraine and abroad have been clarified. It has been established that the enterprises of the garment industry are fire-hazardous enterprises, and the fires that occur in them are characterized by a large area of distribution, large material losses and pose a threat to the life and health of working personnel. In this regard, there is a need to study the state of fire safety in garment industry enterprises and identify promising measures aimed at improving it. During the first stage of the work (October 2020 - November 2021), the available information and published primary sources related to the research problem were studied, the information was systematized, and the methods and algorithms necessary for further application in the work were selected and adapted. Formation of analytical and theoretical data was carried out. During the second period of work (December 2021 - November 2023), experimental studies of the fire hazard indicators of cotton and polyester fabrics, namely ignition and self-ignition temperatures depending on the percentage content of cotton and polyester in them, were conducted. A comparison of the results obtained with the help of computer modeling and real-life polygon tests was made. With the help of computer modeling and polygon tests, a study of the behavior of sewing - experimental areas equipped with shielding protective panels in fire conditions was carried out. Received a patent of Ukraine for the utility model "Method of additional fire protection of workplaces of sewing enterprises."
