The phenomenon of collaborationism, the main approaches to its definition, characteristic features and varieties are studied, attention is paid to the issues of everyday life as an element of social reality under occupation. The features of internally displaced persons as a specific social group within Ukrainian society, as well as the peculiarities of ensuring the social security of IDPs are characterized. The main groups of needs of IDPs are identified: material and non-material, mechanisms for their satisfaction. A comparative analysis of the geography of internal displacement, the peculiarities of the perception of IDPs by host communities, stereotypes and problems that are characteristic of different waves of IDPs is carried out. The problem of preserving the local identity of the temporarily occupied communities is studied, the case of the Mariupol community is considered. The article analyzes the peculiarities of socialization of orphaned students through the study of the social consequences of orphanhood, determining the role of the main agents of socialization - educational institutions, dormitories, media, subcultures, etc. The models and stages of socialization of orphaned students are studied, recommendations and basic strategies for working with this category of students are developed. The results of the study have been implemented in the educational process and activities of Mariupol State University.
