The purpose of the work is the development and improvement of technologies for increasing the energy efficiency of electric rolling stock of railway transport. Research methods – mathematical modeling, solving traction problems, multi-criteria optimization, calculations of the magnetic field using the finite element method using specialized software. A locomotive for railway quarry transport, equipped with a modern traction electric drive, was considered. Traction characteristics of the proposed locomotive were determined. The effect of adaptive control of traction electric motors of a multi-motor electric drive on energy consumption was studied. The technology of electromechanical shock absorbers for improving the characteristics of electric rolling stock has been studied. A mathematical model was developed to study the dynamics of a crew equipped with electromechanical shock absorbers. The synthesis of the electromechanical body tilting system and vibration energy recovery was carried out. An assessment of the possibility and expediency of using specialized electric locomotives for shunting operations was carried out.
